2112design was founded in Palo Alto, California in 2003 by me, Steve Haigh. I am a professional software developer and amateur drummer. I am English and have worked in Europe and the US for many years developing software for companies large and small.
A few years ago, I was trying to learn a Dream Theater song from a tab I downloaded from the web. If you know Dream Theater, you will know that is a non-trivial task. I manually created a midi file using Cakewalk so I could hear the drum part, but found the interface unfriendly to drummers and the whole process very difficult and frustrating. So I started to think, "Maybe I will write some software to convert tabs to midi and standard sheet music notation". And that, my friends, is how TabTrax was born. After I started using TabTrax myself it occurred to me that many other drummers would benefit from TabTrax, so I started 2112design. Why 2112design? "2112" is the name of an album by Rush, the greatest band of all time, IMHO.

In 2004 I said goodbye to the Silicon Valley rat race and moved to paradise; a small island in the south of Thailand, where I live with beautiful girlfriend, continue to develop new features for TabTrax, play my drums in local bars and generally have a great life
As a 2112design customer, you can be sure you will get speedy technical support directly from me, the developer of TabTrax, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
